The Refine Team
LESIL AYERS
Liesl Ayers believes movement should bring her students back home to their bodies. Her own movement practice has grown through years of functional strength training, calisthenics, Yoga and Pilates, along with two years of working one-on-one with a private training coach to better understand body composition and compound movements. All of this has led her to develop a passion of understanding exercise physiology and how the body adapts and responds to training. After completing a 60-hour fitness teacher training, Liesl brings that experience into her own classes, balancing challenging movements with mindfulness and recovery, as well as a healthy dose of fun! She loves creating workouts that make her students work hard, laugh along the way, and discover your own strength, and Liesl always comes to class with a fun new playlist!
At the heart of Liesl’s teaching is a simple belief: community is part of the work out.
Liesl’s goal is to create a space where her students can come exactly as they are, find their own pace, push a little further when they feel ready, and know that they are truly part of a community of like-minded friends and peers. Liesl’s classes are designed to welcome different bodies, abilities, and experience levels, with encouragement to meet the body where it is and build from there. When she isn’t teaching, Liesl is usually somewhere outside, digging in her garden, hiking with friends, foraging for wild mushrooms, or getting happily distracted by the natural world.
She is also an enthusiastic road-tripper, vinyl record collector and wanderer of any antique shop she can find.
CAROL SPENCER-COONS
Carol is a RYT‑200 yoga teacher with a strong background in fitness and dance, blending strength, rhythm, and expressive movement into every class. She teaches Hatha, Restorative, Yin, Adaptive Yoga, and Sculpt with a gentle, intuitive style that encourages students to move with intention and honor their unique bodies. Yoga is her favorite space to guide healing, empowerment, and connection.
Outside the studio, Carol’s creativity shines through thoughtful class themes, soulful sequencing, and environments inspired by nature, color, and community. Her philosophy centers on compassion, curiosity, and presence — yoga as a lived experience rather than a performance. Her intention is always to help students feel strong, supported, and deeply connected on and off the mat.
ERIKA KINNO
Erika is a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certified yoga instructor. She has been practicing yoga for over two decades and is still amazed by how it positively impacts human bodies, nervous systems, and outlook, including her own.
Erika believes that tapping in to your body, breath, sensuality, and pleasure is the quickest way to answer these questions in any given moment: Who are you? What do you want? She hopes you leave her class feeling more connected to those answers and empowered to let your authentic self shine in your personal and professional life.
Erika’s classes are geared to all ages, genders, and body types. She helps students find what feels good, recognizing that it might be different for each person, and different each day. She believes that continuing to come back to your body is the most important thing; yoga is a practice, not a destination.
Erika loves music, especially R&B, so expect a carefully crafted playlist and a warm vibe. For fun outside of the studio, you will find her dancing at local concerts, paddling on the water, planning a hot springs soak, enjoying an ice cream cone, and doing her own yoga on the beach.
RACHAEL ROGERS
Rachael has been passionate about movement her entire life, especially running and strength training. To bring more balance and longevity to her practice, she became a certified yoga teacher and Y12SR space holder in 2022. Her teaching has evolved from an athletic focus to making movement accessible and empowering for all, with classes filled with gratitude, encouragement, laughter, and just a little spice.
A Des Moines local, Rachael loves creating a space where people can challenge themselves, feel grounded and strong, and remember not to take themselves too seriously along the way. She believes the kindness and confidence we cultivate through movement can ripple beyond the studio and into the larger community. Outside the studio, you’ll often find her walking her dogs at the marina, participating in weekly parkrun events, trail running, triathlon training, or drinking probably too much coffee. Her goal is for everyone to leave class grateful for their body, energized for the day ahead, and proud that they showed up for themselves.
NICOLE DELORIE
Nicole has been bringing the energy to the fitness world for nearly 15 years! After falling in love with group fitness in college, she turned that passion into teaching and never looked back. Certified across multiple cycling platforms with experience in HIIT, Total Body Conditioning, Pilates, Barre, and strength training, Nicole believes a great workout should challenge you, energize you, and most importantly be FUN.
Step into Nicole’s class and expect a fire playlist, big energy, plenty of encouragement, and a room where everyone feels welcome. She loves people just as much as she loves fitness, and her goal is always to help you feel stronger, more confident, and leave thinking, “That was the best hour of my day.”
When she’s not teaching, you’ll find Nicole traveling, painting, spending time with her daughters, Nina and Sophia, and hanging with their girl dog, Madeline, at home in West Seattle.
ASHLEY WAINSCOTT
Ashley discovered yoga after the birth of her third baby, when she was searching for a little time for herself. After taking her first class—and accepting an invitation to return the very next day—yoga quickly became an important part of her life. After 20 years in the corporate world, Ashley experienced the effects of burnout and turned to yoga as a powerful tool for managing anxiety and finding balance. She completed her first teacher training and, after several years of teaching alongside her career, took the leap to become a full-time teacher. Over the past nine years, Ashley has continued her education through numerous trainings and now teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Barre, and Mat Pilates. Her classes are fun, challenging, and playful, with a focus on helping every student feel seen, supported, and uplifted.
For Ashley, yoga is about so much more than movement—it’s about community, connection, and creating space to reconnect with yourself. She is passionate about bringing people together and has hosted international retreats designed to help others step away from the day-to-day grind and prioritize themselves. As a current lululemon Ambassador, Ashley also uses her platform to bring yoga to kids a community that is underserved in the yoga world. Outside the studio, you’ll find her cheering on her kids at sporting events, singing and dancing, or dreaming up her next big adventure.

JESSICA BROWN
Jessica has been practicing yoga for about 15 years, but it wasn’t until five years ago that she truly fell in love with the practice. She has been teaching for the past three years and is also a Reiki Master and Certified Spiritual Life Coach.
Her teaching style is rooted in connecting breath with body and movement. Jessica encourages her students to get out of their heads, tune into what they’re feeling, and become more present with themselves. She loves teaching faster-paced, challenging flows while always offering modifications and options so students can make the practice their own. Above all, she believes in listening to your body and honoring what you need in the moment—some days that means pushing a little more, and other days it means pulling back. Both are an important part of the practice.
Yoga has profoundly changed Jessica’s life, teaching her how to quiet her mind, connect with her body, and become more aware of what’s happening within. It has played a meaningful role in her own healing journey and is one of the biggest reasons she loves teaching. Her hope is to give others the opportunity to experience that same connection—to step out of their thoughts, feel stronger in their bodies, and have a space where they can simply breathe, move, and be.
Outside of teaching, Jessica is a mom to an amazing daughter who is truly her best friend. She loves spending time in nature, practicing yoga, and exploring all things healing and spiritual. She’s always learning, growing, and finding new ways to connect more deeply with herself and the world around her.
KRISTINA CADELINA
Kristina’s love of movement has evolved over many years, from teaching Zumba and kickboxing to strength training, yoga, barre, Pilates, and sculpt. She is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor with trauma-informed training and is also trained in Barre, Pilates, and Sculpt. Her classes blend mindful movement with just the right amount of challenge, with a strong emphasis on modifications and meeting your body where it is that day. Kristina encourages students to choose the version of a movement that works best for them, reminding them that modifying isn’t doing less—it’s making the practice work for you.
For Kristina, movement is about so much more than a workout—it’s a way to build strength, create space, and reconnect with yourself. She wants students to leave her classes feeling better than when they walked in: stronger, calmer, more confident, or simply a little more grounded. Outside the studio, Kristina is a recipe developer and food photographer who loves creating nourishing comfort food, strength training, spending time with her family, and getting outside with her Labradoodle, Luna.
LAURA PICKARD
Fitness has been a part of Laura’s life for as long as she can remember, and over the past year, she decided to take that passion into the studio and become a teacher. After earning her Group Fitness Training certification, she began teaching mat Pilates, sculpt, and barre. Known for her enthusiasm and energy, Laura creates a welcoming environment where hard work and positivity go hand in hand. She loves combining strength, mobility, and balance to help members build muscle, challenge themselves, and feel more connected to their bodies. Expect up beat music you’ll want to dance to, and a supportive community that will keep you motivated from the first song to the final stretch. Laura is a group fitness instructor who believes fitness should be fun and empowering!
What she loves most about teaching is the community, especially getting to know and cheer on her regulars! She loves helping people discover what they’re capable of, wherever they are in their fitness journey, and watching them leave a workout feeling stronger and proud of themselves. Her goal is for every class to leave members feeling confident, accomplished, and excited about the person they’re becoming. Outside the studio, you’ll usually find her walking her Bernese Mountain Dog, Goose, at Saltwater State Park, cooking with intention, or planning her next vacation. Laura is so excited to welcome you to the studio!
ANNA RIGGS
Anna’s first experience with yoga was at age 14 at Seattle Children’s Hospital, where she felt the healing effects of the practice almost immediately. It wasn’t until she was 24, however, that yoga became a regular part of her life. Over the past decade, she has explored yoga across the spectrum—from hot vinyasa to yin, restorative, laughter yoga, and even goat yoga—and has also had the opportunity to manage a yoga studio.
After more than ten years of practicing, Anna felt that teaching was the natural next step in her yoga journey. In November 2025, she completed her 200-hour teacher training in Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and Restorative Yoga. She plans to complete an additional 200-hour training in February 2027 as she continues to deepen her practice and expand her knowledge.
Anna’s teaching style is grounded, welcoming, and adaptable. She believes yoga isn’t about creating a perfect shape or pushing the body to its limits—it’s about learning to listen to yourself, creating space to breathe, and finding what feels supportive in each moment. Her classes blend mindful movement, intentional breath, and moments of stillness, with an emphasis on helping students feel comfortable and connected in their own bodies.
What she loves most about teaching is being able to create a space where people can slow down, let go of the outside world, and simply be. She loves watching students discover that yoga can meet them exactly where they are, whether they need movement, rest, grounding, or a little more space to breathe.
When she’s not practicing or learning more about yoga, Anna enjoys reading, painting, and spending time with her husband and their three dogs.
Above all, Anna hopes you leave her classes feeling a little more at ease, a little more grounded, and more connected to yourself.
LAUREL EVANS
Laurel created Refine Motion Studio because she wanted the kind of fitness space she had always been looking for herself, beautiful and elevated, but also warm, welcoming, and never intimidating.
After years of trying just about every kind of workout, Laurel learned that movement doesn’t have to be about chasing perfection. It can be about getting stronger, clearing your head, challenging yourself, and finding something you actually look forward to doing. Refine was born from the idea that there should be a place where everyone feels like they belong—whether you’ve been working out for years or you’re gathering the courage to walk into your very first class.
As a Des Moines local, creating something for the community she loves has been one of Laurel’s favorite parts of bringing Refine to life. Her hope is that the studio becomes more than a place to take a class—it becomes a place where people know your name, friendships are made, and you leave feeling just a little better than when you walked in.
